phenomenal cosmic power, itty bitty living space

I wouldn’t go so far as to call myself a Disney adult but, a Disney Classic aficionado I definitely am. That said, I, as many others do, hear the Holy Spirit speak in the dialogue, musical composition, and animation of many Disney films. I was trying to find words to encompass how I feel Christians sometimes navigate the world and immediately I heard Robin Williams. While these words were used for Genie to describe the unfortunate living situation of a genie, I think that we as disciples often have a terrible habit of forcing ourselves to navigate God’s terrible, vast and glorious world as if we were a genie in a lamp. Full of great power and ability and yet so limited in our experiences and evangelical methods. The difference here being, that our entrapment is a result of our own fear and lack of curiosity and not the binding of some higher magical checks and balance system. All of creation, even the things fashioned by man, points back to God’s glory in the earth and the mystery that is hidden within. It’s our job to unearth it. I hope to pursue that mystery. To find revelation in every texture and sound, movement, and taste. That sounds worshipful to me.
