political idolatry is sticky.

FUN FACT: Lydia hates talking about politics.
As an African-American Christian I have often, not always, found myself disheartened and honestly sad at the way many Black Christians come to, manage, prioritize and communicate their political views so I honestly would usually just rather not talk about it. There’s so much I could say on the subject but it all boils down to this.

As Christians, it is our responsibility to influence and initiate CHANGE. Change in the will of God cannot be made while simultaneously idolizing Party or practice (this is a bi-partisan issue TO BE VERY CLEAR). Now, we don’t really have options this go round (and if you think you do, I still love you but we need to talk) but I implore you to think, even still, about your WHY. If you call yourself a disciple of Jesus you will ALWAYS find yourself having to compromise SOME belief in our political system no matter the side. Let your choices be made firstly in love and with the consideration of how Jesus’ teachings inform your political views. Do your opinions align with biblical truth? Let your framework not be simply based on colors, race and money. Now OBVIOUSLY those things come into play but I think now more than ever we really need to investigate our Why. Understand it clearly. Acknowledge where compromises have to be made so that love and justice can have their fair chance. It’s not just primary colors, there’s so much gray to hand over to Jesus and thankfully he’s there to carry it cause she’s heavy.
Anywho VOTE. PLEASE (if you haven’t already) kk. byeee.
